Change of Plans

Scripture:

9In their hearts humans plan their course,
but the Lord establishes their steps. 

Proverbs 16:9

Devotional:

As a human being, I have the tendency to want things my way. Sometimes I’ll plan a day out in my head or I’ll have something I want to do, and something changes. Whether it’s a bump in the road or we are going in a completely different direction, I don’t like when my plans change. Especially when I had my heart set on doing what I wanted to do. Over the years though I learned that sometimes change is for the better. We can’t see the future, but our God can. That’s why it is important to let him determine your actions and steps in this life. Honestly I would rather an all-knowing God guide me instead of me thinking I know what to do. My point is God has a plan for each and every one of us. I don’t know what your plan will have you doing. I don’t even know what God has for me in the next 10 mins, but I do know if it’s God’s will, it’s greater than anything we could think of doing.  

Prayer:

Lord, please help us to surrender our lives to you. Help us to follow your lead on this life because you know what’s best for us. Help us to encourage others to do the same. Thank you for loving more than we deserve.
