Created with Color
Scripture:
13For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
Psalm 139:13-14
Devotional:
Think about the most vibrant colors you've ever seen—sunsets, flowers, a painting. Now imagine all those colors in complete darkness. No matter how bright they are, you can’t see them without light. In total darkness, every color looks black. The same is true of us.
God has created each of us with unique colors—our personalities, gifts, and callings.
By God’s design, we were all meant to be different in a beautiful way. We each have our own variety of colors. We were all created with different passions, purposes, and plans that work together for God’s kingdom.
The more time we spend with God by reading, praying, listening, and working for him, our identity shines, and we feel more confident in the gifts, plans, and colors we have.
Without him, we start to lose clarity. Instead, we gain doubt and confusion, and ultimately become dull. So keep close to our creator and stay colorful in this dark world.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for creating me with beauty, purpose, and intention. Help me stay near to you so I can truly reflect your glory. Shine through me and help me bring more color into the world that feels so dark at times. Amen.
