The Cure

Scripture:

9 Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”

Mark 2: 9-12

16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Mark 2: 16-17

23 … everything that does not come from faith is sin.

Romans 14:23

Devotional:

Every person has been sick; they either have minor symptoms which they’ll recover from, or they have major symptoms that will eventually lead to death. Prior to you repenting (changing your mind), and receiving (willfully accepting) Jesus’s Kingdom Message, you had major symptoms that you would’ve died from. Sin is humanity’s sickness and Jesus brought The Cure!

Accepting The Cure – Jesus’s message – given by the Doctor, enabled you to be identified as righteous in the sight of the King. Depending on the environment you’ve been in and how long you’ve been alive on the earth before you accepted The Cure will directly impact the number of doses you need before you reach the optimal healed state. Moreover, as a citizen of the Kingdom of God, all works, actions and behaviors must have faith at the foundation – everything that you do needs to come from having faith in God. The scripture says that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. You are on a healing journey and the scriptures contained in the Bible are your guide and medicine, read and study them often!

Although the identity of sinner is no longer applied to you, as you learn and grow into the Kingdom Citizen He designed for you to be, there might be instances in which you contract a minor sickness from time to time – not living by faith – ; however, don’t lose hope, as continual repentance will enable you to recover.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for The Cure! I ask that you forgive me for the times in which I don’t walk by faith. As I read your scriptures, please reveal your truths to me that will help me to lead a faith led life like Jesus so that I can do the greater works Jesus said I will do. Open my spiritual senses so I can perceive every instance in which your Holy Spirit speaks truth to me and guides me into the ways that are pleasing in your sight. Amen!
